Fun Facts:

  • J. R. R. Tolkien: born 3 January 1892; died 2 September 1973

  • The Hobbit: written in the late 1920s to amuse his three sons, published in 1937

  • The Lord of the Rings: written in stages between 1937 and 1949, published in three volumes in 1954 and 1955 (Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King respectivly)

  • Three film adaptations have been made; 1978 animated film by Ralph Bakshi (It sucks as it only get ½ way through the story), 1980 animated  TV special by Rankin-Bass (Is lame cuz its only the last book), Peter Jackson’s live action version of each book in 2001, 2002 and 2003 (Totally Rocks!)

  • 2004; Gregory J. Bauhof (actor/director/geek) decides to shut up those who think the recent movies were “too long” or “didn’t include enough from the books” by writing the funny little skit we performed.

  • 2001- 2003; full-length stage musical adaptations of each book are produced in Cincinnati, OH (all tank big time!); March 2006 a musical production of the entire LOTR opens in Tornoto, it tanks as well and loses lots of money

  • May 2007, yet another LOTR musical opens in London, England.  It receives mixed reviews, but is still running as far as we know.  We’ve never seen it.  But we think our show is probably more fun!

All of the shows in this production are dedicated to:
